Paris, Texas

Seen in the Grutli cinema, Geneve on Easter Sunday. The hall was almost full!

The landscape of Texas, the very few people in each scene enhanced what was a very simple story about a very simple man with the same fears, insecurities and misgivings as another. It was very humanizing in a way- the change from being an alluring mystery to a man who was just insecure about his beautiful, young wife. Their son Hunter was a beautiful character, his dialogues were almost written by himself, it will be hard for an adult to imagine the world through a child's eyes like that. The scenes in the 'talk/peep themed rooms' were beautiful as you see it from both sides- the carefully curated customer side and the half done supplier side. I also loved seeing how Hunter and Travis become friends over a walk home when Travis dresses himself up as a 'rich father'.
Beautiful movie, I wish I was more comfortable - it was a little warm as I didn't take off my jacket and the seats were too little to cuddle and play in.
